Theory of Evolution

The theory of evolution by natural selection was found by Charles Darwin, and this theory is now the basis of evolution theory. This theory came out after the Lamarckism came out, it is similar though this theory was more precise and well explained for animals evolution. It explains how life has changed, and continues to change during Earth's history. According to Darwin and Alfred Russel Wallace, another British naturalist, individual with traits that helped them to survive in their environments were more likely to survive to pass on the traits that they have to offspring. This increases the chances to survive and reproduce, eventually they will have the favorable traits, this is the idea of survival of the fittest, and Darwin called this process as "natural selection". Darwin did not use the word evolution in the book that he wrote. Instead of it, he mentioned descent with modification, the theory that natural selection does not demonstrate progress, but merely results from a species' ability to survive local conditions at a specific time. (by McGraw-Hill Ryerson Biology 11) His famous research is about the finches in Galapagos Island, which from one type of bird, they evolved or survived and adapt in different types of bird in the same Island.
