Genetic Drift

Is one of the basic mechanisms of evolution.

Along with natural selection, mutation, and migration.

Genetic drift is neutral alleles which are predicted to eventually become fixed at 0 / 100 frequency in the absence of other mechanisms affecting allele distributions. For this mechanism, founder effect, would be accurate as the example of genetic drift. Founder effect happens when the genetic loss, and variation that occurs when a new population is established by a very small number of individuals from a larger population. Example for this founder effect would be "Amish" people, which they re-populate with in their family or relatives. Due to this, some of them have mutations like the picture next to it.
